At the beginning of April this year, the Estate was honoured to host the marriage of Megan Crabb and Max Watkins. The happy couple finally tied the knot on the Estates grounds, surrounded by their closest family and friends. Hopefully, we created an unforgettably magical day for the couple; one that they can look back over and remember forever.
The vibrancy of their day was undeniable. The chemistry between the newlyweds was contagious, and extended to all those who attended!
Even with a wonderfully large guest list, the intimate atmosphere was not lost. Everyone, the Blackstock team and bridal party alike, were infatuated by the energy that surrounded them throughout the day. It was a resounding success.
Kicking off the special day with a bang, Megan and her bridal party had use of the luxurious bridal suite at Blackstock Estate. Being able to take full advantage of both the makeup room and the suite filled them all with an infectious anticipation for what was ahead. Being onsite meant that when they were ready, there was no rush “getting to the church on time” and so they could relax and enjoy a celebratory glass of champagne!
Following the tradition of not viewing one’s spouse prior to the wedding, Max and his groomsmen arrived later after getting ready at home.
Megan and Max’s ceremony was a beautiful event, celebrated in our renovated Tudor Barn. A warm atmosphere was created through the use of fairy lights adorning the rustic support beams of the building. As she walked down the aisle, arm in arm with her father, Megan was glowing in her stunning bridal gown, naturally showcasing her elegance. Max looked striking in his chequered grey suit with a blueish-grey satin tie.
The air was filled with emotion as the bride and groom exchanged vows and promised to love each other forever. It was a moment that will never be forgotten and cherished for years to come.
Once the documentation was signed and the couple were officially married, everyone was invited out onto the patio area to enjoy a wonderful selection of canapes and drinks. In the meanwhile, the beautiful newlyweds were beaming as they explored the picturesque grounds. At that moment, photographer John Scofield was able to capture a series of precious memories.
Megan and Max explored our idyllic grounds located in the heart of the Sussex Downs. John was able to capture the wonderful moments of privacy and present them in a single exquisite catalogue of photos. Hopefully, these pictures will transport the couple back to their day, whenever they look through them, allowing them to relive those heartwarming moments again and again.
As the newlyweds made their way back to the main site, their attendees gathered in the Granary Barn in expectation. When they had returned, the Blackstock Toastmaster announced Mr and Mrs Watkins for the first time.
Upon hearing this, our in-house catering team got to work making the final preparation for the extraordinary wedding breakfast they had prepared.
The three-course meal consisted of smoke chicken and wild mushrooms to start, followed by a slow-cooked marinated pork belly and was concluded with our signature triple chocolate brownie. The catering team made certain that everyone’s needs were met. We provided additional options for dietary or taste preferences and ensured everything was served with an outstanding service.
The sky was painted with a majestic orange hue, as the guests gathered at the Tudor Barn. It was time to move on to more festive activities. In high spirits, the newlyweds cut their wedding cake and romantically followed this with their first dance together as man and wife. This beautiful moment paved the way for some truly stunning photos as the sun set over the picturesque estate.
As the night drew to its natural conclusion, the couple made their final farewells and headed to the Goat Shed, their luxury accommodation for the night.
